Biotechnology and Bioengineering Application and Research Centre was established in 2009 with funds provided by the State Planning Organization. It offers a wide range of modern and high-profile research tools and instruments to researchers from industry to academia. Tools and equipment at the centre have been designated to support interdisciplinary studies focused on biology, biotechnology and bioengineering. As a reflection of our motivation, Biotechnology and Bioengineering Application and Research Centre supports studies not only for basic science and engineering but also for research projects in the medical field. Presently, Turkey and the European Union funded research agencies are given lots of support in our work centre. The staff of the centre assist in the experiments in the thesis and projects of the researchers as well as the routine tests and analysis.
The centre has a broad infrastructure to carry out various research projects in biotechnology and bioengineering research fields. In addition, it is possible to carry out projects related to human health issues (cancer, degenerative diseases, aging, etc.) in the field of molecular biology and genetics. In addition to medical studies, projects involving plant molecular biology can be carried out to increase the properties of plant species against environmental stressors.
